AEO Audit — Pilot Program

How visible is your business in AI-powered search?

What this is

An AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) audit measures how well your business surfaces in AI-powered search: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google’s AI Overviews. More than half of Google searches now end without a click to any website. When the answer is assembled on the page, ranking matters less than being one of the sources the answer is built from.

One thing we want to be clear about up front: SEO is not dead. AEO builds on SEO fundamentals; it doesn’t replace them. If the audit finds that your SEO foundation needs work first, that’s what the report will say. This is a checkup, not a fire alarm.

What we examine

The audit scores your business across five categories:

  1. AI engine visibility. We run a standardized set of queries across all five major AI engines—both branded (“Tell me about [your business]”) and unbranded (“best [your service] in Lincoln”)—and document exactly what they say about you, and whether they cite you at all.
  2. On-page content and structure. How well your site’s content is organized for AI engines to parse, quote, and cite: clear answers and scannable structure.
  3. Technical foundations. Schema markup, structured data, and the technical signals that tell AI engines who you are and what you do.
  4. Authority signals. Third-party mentions, reviews, and listing consistency across the web; these are the signals AI engines use to decide whether you’re a credible source.
  5. Local presence. Google Business Profile completeness and the local signals that drive “near me” and “[service] in [city]” results.
A question to ask anyone selling an AEO audit: which engines do they actually test? An audit that only checks Google isn’t an AEO audit—it’s an SEO audit with new branding. We query all five by design.

What you receive

A scored PDF report with plain-language findings: what’s working, what’s broken, and what to do about it. Recommendations are split into quick wins you can handle yourself and bigger fixes that take more time or outside help. You’ll understand every finding and why it matters.

How it works

  1. Intake form. About 15 minutes of questions about your business, services, and competitors.
  2. Review. We review your submission and respond within three business days to confirm fit and email an invoice.
  3. The audit. Work begins when payment is received. We run the full five-category review.
  4. Delivery. Your PDF report arrives by email within 10 business days of payment.
  5. Debrief. A short call to walk through the findings and gather your feedback on the pilot.

Pilot pricing

Pilot Production
Full five-category audit + scored PDF report $400 $800

The pilot is the complete production audit at reduced price—same scope, same deliverable. We’re running a limited number of pilots before the public launch, and the discount reflects what we’re asking in return.

Also available: Audit + Priority Roadmap ($1,600), which adds a prioritized remediation plan and extended walkthrough.

Pricing assumes a typical small-business website; if yours is substantially larger (say, a 30-page ecommerce site), we’ll confirm scope and price before invoicing. And in the spirit of the pilot: Production pricing is part of what this program validates. The pilot price you’re quoted is the price you pay, regardless of where production pricing lands.

What we ask of pilot participants

  1. Honest written feedback on the deliverable: what was clear, what wasn’t, what you wanted that wasn’t there. Candor is the entire point of the pilot.
  2. A testimonial we can use, ideally as a Google review. (Fitting, given what the audit measures.)
  3. Permission to write up the engagement as a case study. Anonymized if you prefer, though named is better.

What to ask us

“What if the audit finds my SEO needs work first?” Then that’s what the report says, with specific findings—and we’ll tell you what that work looks like before any AEO investment makes sense.
“Will this get me cited by ChatGPT next month?” No promises like that—anyone making them is selling something else. The audit tells you where you stand and what moves the needle.
